Cédrus Log Buildings
The family of Cédrus Log Buildings includes traditional log houses made by our company with CNC technology. Dried laminated-pasted, finished, longitudinally spliced beams with grooves and tongues, made from spruce from the alpine region of Austria are the basic material of the wall structures. Beams of similar structure from borovi pine are optionally available.

We have European certificates of Conformity (ETA) for all components of our log buildings. It is of great significance for us to use only natural materials for the construction of our log buildings, which do not contain chemicals and substances that may be directly or indirectly harmful to health or contaminate our environment.
Log buildings and other wooden structures (such as wooden temples) erected several hundred years ago and still standing in many counties of Europe confirm that houses can be built without any chemicals from basic materials of good quality and with proper skills and technologies.
Our company combines state-of-the-art computer aided production design and CNC technology with basic materials of good quality to provide a natural home for generations.
Wall structure of Cédrus Log Buildings:
Beams provided with grooves and tongues, constituting the wall structure are 13 m long, and are 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 cm wide. The wall structure depends on the building function, requirements and expectations relating to the building.
We have a certificate of origin for the basic material and the most stringent Austrian and German qualifications for beams. Our suppliers have several decades of production experience.

A) Solid log wall
It is today’s version of the traditional log houses and the steadiest structure of wall constructions. The „breathing” capacity and low heat transfer and heat storage capacities of the solid log wall guarantees an unparalleled internal climate of the solid log building.
Today’s requirements can be met with the 18 cm wall thickness, top quality 3-layer doors and windows, proper foot and ceiling/roof insulations (u=<0.45 W/m2K).
B) Insulated log wall
The 12 cm or 15 cm log buildings of statically stable structure are provided with insulation on the inner side. The insulating material is constituted by cellulose based injected or pressed panels. The inner side is provided with wall covering in accordance with the log profile, or with plasterboards or other wall covering if demanded. The thickness of the insulating layer may vary depending on the intended heat insulation capacity.
For standard structures (12 cm beam, 11 cm insulation, 3 cm air gap and 2 cm inner covering = )
28 cm wall thickness is achieved. u= 0.24 W/m2K
C) Double log wall with insulation in it
14-20 cm cellulose insulating material is inserted between the two, usually thinner, 8-10 cm thick log walls. U=< 0,1-0,15 W/m2K. Therefore it can be used also as a wall structure for a passive house.
Standard structure: 2x8 cm log wall, with 14 cellulose in it. u=0.17 W/m2K.

Basic materials used:
- Wooden materials:
All built in wooden basic material is dried, finished spruce, and redwood at exposed points.
BHB – laminated-pasted beams spliced with grooves and tongues: wall
KVH – longitudinally splices structural wood: ribbed frame of assembled walls
BSH Si – laminated-pasted beams: visible ceiling beams, columns, edge valley-rafters, purlins
S10 – building timber: rafters
- Wall board:
MFP – wall boards with high strength, good vapour permeability, free from emission of hazardous materials
- Foils:
Dörken Delta Reflex – mesh-reinforced foil with heat reflection and vapour barrier: inner surface of insulation
Dörken Delta Maxx – multilayer vapour permeable foil: roof’s external surface
Alpet – mesh reinforced foil with vapour barrier assembled walls
- Pasting technique:
Airstop – permantently weatherproof adhesive tape: perfect airlock
Dörken Delta Multiband – perfect water tightness
Dörken Delta Polyband – aluminium steamed adhesive tape: attachment of heat-reflective foil
- Heat insulation:
Isocell – cellulose based heat insulation: wall, partition, ceiling/roof
Pavatex Diffutherm – cellulose based hard panel heat insulation: facade
Pavaboard – cellulose based step-proof insulation: floor
- Surface treatment:
Diotrol—Swiss linseed oil based transparent colour (in 17 basic colours): wooden materials exposed to the atmosphere

- Factory production: prefabrication of beam elements
- Delivery to the building site *
- Assembly of walls, ceiling and roof
- Chimney building (Schiedel, Leier systems)
- Tinning
- Roof cladding tiles (Tondach grooved and curved, Bramac Roman Protector)
- External doors and windows (www.rabaablak.hu) and insertion (92 profile thickness, glazing in 3 layers)
- Insulation of walls, ceiling and roof (Cellulose)
- External surface treatment (Diotrol)
- Inner covering of assembled walls, wood panelling of loft
Price of the finished structure**:
The prices of the finished structures of the solid and insulated log walled dwelling houses of standard structure ranges from 120 to 140 thousand forints + FAT per m2 gross basic area, depending on the technical content, and of double walled log buildings range from 150 and 170 thousand forints + VAT per m2. Gross basic area: area enclosed by the external walls of the building (m2).
The prices are applicable for 80-120 m2 one or two level houses or houses with built-in lofts.
Deviations by 10-15% are due to the design of the house, the optional wood type, the inner appearance of the roof level (visible or covered purlins), optional doors and windows (split, false split, louvres).
The individual parts and accessories of the building (such as balcony, pergola, roofed terrace, car parking place, garage etc.) are priced depending on the actual technical content.
* The price of the finished structure includes delivery costs from the production place (Ágfalva) to a distance up to 200 km.
** The price of the finished structure is applicable for houses built with standard wall structures in accordance with the technical content of a finished structure.
We can give a quotation for the foundation of the building and the turnkey construction in the knowledge of the site and the itemised technical content.
We can give a quotation for an itemised keyturn construction only if planning is included, or on the basis of plan documentation with a valid building permit after the technical content of the finished structure and the price are accepted.
If you decide to choose our company for the construction of your future home we shall sign a contract of work for the job.
We offer a 10 year full guarantee for the wall structures of all Cédrus Log Buildings manufactured and assembled by us, beyond the legally required guarantee. The guarantee will start on the technical handing over and acceptance procedure, and is subject to proper use and observance of the maintenance instructions.
